Held under the patronage of Mr. Imad Achkar, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, our recent GIS Day event in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon (SGEC-L), themed 'Celebrating Future GIS Professionals,' emphasized the pivotal role of GIS technology in education.

The event, hosted by SGEC-L, not only showcased our commitment to educational advancements through the ArcGIS platform but also featured active participation from students of NDA - Rawda, NDMC - Fanar, and CND - Sahel Alma. These students played a key role by sharing their work and presenting various GIS projects under the GIS Awareness for Schools program, illustrating the innovative applications of GIS in different educational contexts.

Additionally, we proudly announced the signing of an MOU with SGEC-L during the event, symbolizing our joint efforts to integrate GIS into curriculum design, and administration, and foster innovation in education. The event served as a successful celebration of GIS in education, providing a platform for insightful discussions on GIS technology's transformative impact.

To further enrich the event, a panel discussion entitled "Teaching with GIS" took place, featuring representatives from key educational entities in Lebanon, including DG. Imad Achkar from MEHE, Father Youssef Nasr from SGEC-L, Dr. Jihad Saliba from CRDP, and Mrs. Gretta Kelzi from Esri Lebanon. Each participant contributed their insights to a thoughtful discussion on the integration of GIS with education in Lebanon.
